SANTA CLARA, CA -- PCB West, the Silicon Valley's largest conference for the printed circuit board industry, opens here today.

The annual conference and exhibition routinely draws nearly 2,000 attendees in the PCB design, fabrication and assembly industry.

More than 100 companies will exhibit during the sold-out show on Sept. 10. Meanwhile, the four-day technical conference, which begins today, features nearly 60 presentations on topics ranging from high-speed design and signal integrity to flex circuits and cutting-edge assembly.

On Sept. 10, "Free Tuesday" includes 13 presentations, including a special talk on signal and power integrity by Eric Bogatin. Anyone with an exhibits pass receives free access to the Free Tuesday presentations. Other free presentations range from technical to business issues, including talks on power-design networks, EMS purchasing and sales strategies, and marketing oneself.

Free registration for the show ends Sept. 9; after that, registrants will be charged $25.

There is also a complimentary happy hour on the show floor Tuesday from 5 to 6 p.m.

All events take place at the Santa Clara Convention Center.
