GRASSINGTON AND WALLIINGFORD, UK – Labcenter Electronics will now offer free PCB symbols, footprints and 3-D models from SamacSys through its online CAD tool.
Under terms of the agreement, components found at SamacSys's website can now be downloaded into Labcenter's Proteus design tools without the need for manually extracting information from datasheets to create the CAD models.
SamacSys's PCB library of more than 15 million components models are based on IPC standards and said to be quality-checked.
The SamacSys CAD library content saves companies and electronics engineers the time-consuming task of PCB part creation, the companies said in a joint announcement.
“The integration of SamacSys tools with Proteus provides a quick and seamless way for our users to search and import new library parts,” said Iain Cliffe, executive director, Labcenter. “Not only does this make literally millions of existing schematic components and footprints easily accessible but Proteus users will also benefit from a free-to-use part creation service for new silicon devices.”
The companies also released a new video on how to set up and work with the SamacSys Library Loader and Proteus.
