Molex Inc. introduces the Picoflex SMT header with 1.27-mm pitch. The rugged header is suited to numerous applications in the industrial, automotive, medical and multimedia industries.
The patent-pending latch design is reported to increase the retention force between the header and receptacle by at least 50% compared to the company’s standard friction-lock header, ensuring a robust and reliable connection.
Features include a standard interface design that makes the surface-mount latched header backward compatible and allows it to mate with existing Picoflex receptacles. The header can tolerate reflow temperatures up to +260° C because of the polyphthalamide housing material.
Optional gold plating provides easier mating and higher mating cycles; high-profile polarizing pegs act as lead-ins to aid assembly, while preventing header/receptacle mismating.
