Oxford Instruments has released the
X-Strata980 X-ray fluorescence Analyzer to reportedly detect hazardous elements in product samples and assist in producing environmentally friendly products.
The company reports that the instrument performs analysis and
characterization of multi-layer coatings, SAC alloys, µPPF and solar
panels. Other applications include measuring coating thickness of
gold and palladium on electronics and metal alloy chemistry
identification.
The company claims that the X-Strata980 makes it easier to identify,
quantify and differentiate neighboring elements, and that most analysis
can be done in seconds to minutes. Features as small as 150 microns in
size can be measured, and collimators in a variety of sizes are
available.
