eCadStar release 2021.0 includes numerous new features including 3-D creepage safety checks in the PCB design editor, improved bus management and sheet connector cross-references in the schematic editor and enhanced scripting in the COM interface.

Creepage safety checking functionality, for power supply design, analyzes electrical safety of nets and defined regions of a PCB design, measuring the distance between electrical items across an insulating surface in 3-D (according to standards like IEC-62368). Creepage rules are user-controlled in a common constraint browser in both the schematic and PCB design editor. SPICE controller provides an integrated solution for analog circuits simulation. Shows graphical waveforms, conducts what-if analysis, changes discrete values, and run S-parameter sweeps using an embedded version of the free Analog Devices LTspice simulation software.
