Atlanta, GA – ECIA has released its annual Top 50 Americas Authorized Distributors report on TrustedParts.com. This ECIA original study builds on nearly 5 years of data. Each year, ECIA Chief Analyst Dale Ford compiles this report from survey results, extensive research of public financial data, input from manufacturers and distributors, and web-based secondary research. Findings reflect both the research and Dale Ford’s deep understanding of the component channel.

“The latest ECIA Top 50 Americas Authorized Distributors report delivers encouraging news for the industry as overall revenues grew by 7.1% in 2025,” Dale explains in the preface to the report. “Revenues grew from $28.8 B in 2024 to $30.9 B in 2025. The data reveals that 80% of the top 50 distributors achieved revenue growth in 2025. Only four distributors among the top 30 saw revenues decline. The declines among this group were modest - between only -0.8% and -5.0%.

“The growth was experienced broadly across the component categories with six out of seven categories measured delivering growth in 2025. Power & Battery components were the only category to experience a decline in revenues.

Among end-markets, Aerospace/Military was the dominant driver of growth as it became the largest Americas market in 2025 with a 34.6% revenue growth in 2025. Furthermore, after many years of maintaining a strong number one position in end-market revenues, the Industrial Automation market dropped into 2nd place among end-markets as its revenue declined by -6.3%. Six out of eleven end-markets delivered growth in 2025.”

The research continues with the Global Top 50 Report scheduled for later this year. The report is available to all at TrustedParts.com.

NEEDHAM, MA – Global smartphone shipments grew 1.0% year-over-year in the second quarter, reaching 295.2 million units, according to preliminary data from IDC’s Worldwide Quarterly Mobile Phone Tracker. The modest uptick comes despite persistent macroeconomic uncertainty and weaker-than-expected demand in China.

ATLANTA – In response to ECIA members and industry stakeholders, the Association’s Global Industry Practices Committee (GIPC) has established a working group to facilitate information sharing and impact mitigation strategies around tariff operations. This group will address process and strategic concerns including:

  • Methods and strategies for handling tariff charges.
  • Understanding different government regulatory frameworks, e.g. Section 301a and IEEPA.
  • Details about Free Trade Zones (FTZ) and the benefits of creating one
  • Improving the duty drawback process.
  • Effectively communicating tariff charges.
  • Addressing unique tariff challenges presented on supplier returns.

“We have spent the past few weeks collecting and digesting the input from our members about the most impactful areas where we can help member companies prepare for and adjust to new tariff realities,” commented Christine Wolnik, ECIA’s Vice President of Industry Practices. “At a breakout session during the ECIA Joint Council and GIPC meetings in Phoenix

and then at a subsequent all member webinar, we listened and took notes and then began recruiting experts to address this industry challenge.”

The Tariff Working Group will publish guidance documents, conduct webinars, and meet with commerce department officials as needed to confront the challenges as they arise while the administration’s trade policy changes are implemented.

Companies tentatively committed to these efforts include Arrow Electronics, Avnet, Digikey Electronics, Hirose Electric, Marsh Electronics, Master Electronics, Microchip, Molex, Onsemi, PUI Audio, Taiwan Semiconductor, TE Connectivity, TTI, Vishay, Waldom Electronics, World Micro and WPG Americas.
