TOKYO -- Yokogawa Electric has signed an agreement to transfer its printed circuit board manufacturing and assembly factory in Ome to OKI Printed Circuits, effective April 1.

The 122,000 sq. ft. factory will remain open upon completion of the deal, the companies said.

The deal will increase OKI's EMS capacity by 20%. OKI sees high-end EMS as a growth area.

Yokogawa has build printed circuit boards at Ome since 1969 for in-house control and measurement instruments, but has recently been repositioning its PCB board business.

The site employs 77 workers, the companies said.
