CHANDLER, AZ -- A worker at Isola's plant here has reportedly been seriously injured in a chemical handling accident.

The accident occurred when the solvent an employee was handling, called tolulene, caught fire.

Tolulene comes in 55-gal. drums, and the worker was removing the solvent from the drum at the time of the incident.

According to a fire official, the employee was critically burned on the lower part of his body.

The fire, which needed to be extinguished, was in a concrete room where no other combustibles were located. Cleanup and decontamination crews are on the scene.
