FRANKFURT, GERMANY -- German region PCB manufacturers reported sales rose 4.3% year-over-year in June.

Orders in June fell 2.8% year-over-year, ZVEI-Fachverband PCB and Electronic Systems said.

The book-to-bill ratio fell from 1.16 in May to 0.97 in June. For the year, the ratio is 1.09. A ratio over 1.0 is considered an indicator of future market growth.

Year to date, sales are up 8.1% over 2016. For each working day, 12.5% more orders were booked in June than in the previous year, and for the first half orders are up 17% year to date.

The number of employees was 7.7% higher than in June 2016.
