Semi Equipment Sales Up 49% in April
MILPITAS, CA — North America-based semiconductor equipment manufacturers posted $2.17 billion in worldwide billings in April on a 90-day moving average basis.
Billings rose 4.6% over the final March level of $2.08 billion, and were up 48.9% over April 2016, SEMI said.
“Semiconductor equipment billings levels exceed two billion dollars for the second month in a row," said Ajit Manocha, president and CEO of SEMI. “Solid market fundamentals, coupled with strong demand for memory for data storage and processors for smartphones, are fueling significant investments.”
SEMI ceased publishing the monthly North America book-to-bill report in January.
