DAUCHINGEN, GERMANY – Suntech has shut the PWB equipment side of KSL-Kuttler Automation Systems in order to concentrate on the photovoltaics market.

The move, which was announced in June, ends the equipment maker's long history in printed circuit boards.

Suntech acquired Kuttler in 2008, which was founded in 1988.

In June, Kuttler issued a statement noting that in light of the global PCB industry’s 15% reduction in sales in 2009, it would concentrate instead on the fast-growing PV equipment business.
