DAUCHINGEN, GERMANY Suntech has shut the PWB equipment side of KSL-Kuttler Automation Systems in order to concentrate on the photovoltaics market.

The move, which was announced in June, ends the equipment maker's long history in printed circuit boards.

Suntech acquired Kuttler in 2008, which was founded in 1988.

In June, Kuttler issued a statement noting that in light of the global PCB industry’s 15% reduction in sales in 2009, it would concentrate instead on the fast-growing PV equipment business.

CHANDLER, AZJX Nippon Mining & Metals has named Ticer Technologies its exclusive global manufacturer and marketer of TCR thin film resistor copper foil.

Ticer’s original license was for North America only, president David P. Burgess noted. No financial terms were disclosed.

TCR can be purchased directly from Ticer or through all major US laminators in the form of rigid or flexible panels.

Ticer said it would continue to expand the design for TCR and its use in other world markets.
