MIDLAND, MI -- Dow said sales at its Electronic and Functional Materials unit slipped 1% year-over-year to $1.1 billion on lower volumes.

Dow Electronic Materials saw volumes fall 2%, partially offset by price gains of 1%. Sales declines were seen across most businesses, due largely to softness in the electronics industry, partially offset by strong demand gains in Display Technologies, driven primarily by backlit film sales in Europe.

Dow Electronic Materials said its customer wins in the quarter included photoresist for leading edge memory production, films for consumer electronics and electroplating materials for mobile phone applications.
