SANTA CLARA, CA -- The annual PCB West trade show opened today at the Santa Clara Convention Center, with expectations high for another year of greater attendance.

Preshow registration for the conference and exhibits was higher than last year, suggesting the event -- the industry's largest in the Silicon Valley -- would see its fifth straight year of year-over-year gains.

Today is opening of the three-day technical conference, featuring a full day of presentations, including a free lunch presentation for all technical conference registrants, courtesy of Streamline Circuits.

The sold-out exhibit floor is open Wednesday from 10 to 6 and features a full day of free presentations in addition to the paid technical conference. Some 20 more booths have been added to this year's show, making it the largest yet.

On Thursday is another full day of technical presentations, coupled with the start of the 2.5 day IPC Designer Certification courses.
