SAN JOSE, CA– The Electronic Design Automation (EDA) Consortium and the IEEE Council of EDA (CEDA) announced that Dr. Aart de Geus will receive the Phil Kaufman Award for Distinguished Contributions to EDA in October. Dr. de Geus, co-founder, chairman and CEO of Synopsys, has had a major impact on both the business and the technology of EDA. He built the industry’s largest EDA company as a result of his pioneering work in logic synthesis, and his contributions in research played a critical role in forming the technical foundation of the Design Compiler tool, one of the most successful products in EDA history.
