Cadence Swings to Q1 Profit on Big Revenue Spike Print E-mail

SAN JOSE – Electronics design software developer Cadence Design Systems reported a fiscal first-quarter net profit of $6.3 million, compared to a net loss of $11.8 million a year ago.

The firm, which develops software for printed circuit board and semiconductor design, said total revenue was up 20% to $266.1 million, with product revenue of $141.8 million.

 

For the full year, the company raised its revenue forecast to $1.08 billion to $1.12 billion, up from earlier guidance of $1.03 billion to $1.07 billion.
