SMYRNA, GA UP Media Group today announced the Surface Mount Technology Association has been named an exclusive sponsor of Virtual PCB, the industry's only virtual trade show and conference for the PCB design, fabrication and assembly markets.

Now in its third year, Virtual PCB takes place March 2 – 4, 2010.

Under the exclusive agreement, SMTA Corporate members will receive discounted rates for exhibiting. SMTA will exhibit at the show, and plans to launch a series of technical webinars in concert with the opening of Virtual PCB.

“SMTA is a proud to be an exclusive sponsor of the third annual Virtual PCB trade show and conference, the industry’s only web-based trade show and conference,” said JoAnn Stromberg, executive administrator of SMTA. “SMTA Corporate members are encouraged to consider exhibiting at this one-of-a-kind event for the global PCB supply chain and take advantage of special discounts extended exclusively to corporate SMTA members.”

“We are thrilled to partner with SMTA on this year’s Virtual PCB,” said Mike Buetow, editorial director of UPMG. “SMTA is recognized worldwide for its stellar technical programming and audience, which we believe will find the show a convenient, cost-effective and educational experience.”

Virtual PCB’s two previous events totaled over 4,600 registrants and 2,800 attendees. This online trade show and conference offers complete, real-time tracking of attendees, product demos and a sterling technical conference featuring a host of well-known experts.

Leading companies exhibiting to date include Altium, Assembléon, Bare Board Group, DownStream Technologies, EPEC Engineered Technologies, Imagineering, Kyzen, National Instruments and Sunstone Circuits.

A fully interactive, Web-based event, Virtual PCB incorporates all the critical features of a live event, while allowing PCB design, fabrication and assembly equipment and materials buyers and sellers to interact online. Virtual PCB is supported by a proven software platform and will be accessible on-demand for two months following the two-day live event.
