WASHINGTON -- According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS), engineering skills are in higher demand than ever before.

The growth of engineering positions is expected to be 11% per year through 2016. Citing crude oil prices over $100 per barrel, industry experts see jobs in power and energy related research and development are growing. Even installation, troubleshooting and repair positions, in wind, solar and other energy fields are growing at an accelerated pace.

Some of the key positions where qualified EEs are needed include; chemical engineers to work developing biofuels, electrical engineers to design more efficient power plants, and mechanical engineers to develop improved wind energy systems.
