TAIWAN - Printed circuit board makers have reported low demand from the notebook, handset and consumer electronics segments. Revenues for the second quarter expected to remain flat or grow only slightly. The Q2 outlook comes on the tail of the latest North American book-to-bill ratio for the rigid PCB industry, which the IPC released in February. The figure showed that the ratio was up slightly to 0.99 in February, as compared to 0.97 the previous month. Tripod and HannStar Board are both predicting that second-quarter sales will likely stay flat. Compeq Manufacturing expects shipments to increase in the second-quarter, but will reportedly remain below 10%. |
