Taiwan - Aurona Industries plans to raise its prices 8% in
January 2008 to reflect the rising costs of phenol, according to
industry sources. Aurona president Chou Ho Shun said the company had
already raised its prices in January and July this year, but the fast
rising materials costs still resulted in losses for the company in the
second and third quarters.
Phenol prices soared 40% in 2006, and the upward trend continued in
2007, with prices having increased 30% as of November to US$1,660 per
metric ton, according to the Aurona president. |
