STAMFORD, CT – Diversified manufacturer Crane Co. reported first-quarter net income grew 17%, helped by acquisitions and higher sales in all divisions.
Net income for the quarter ended March 31 rose to $43.6 million from $37.4 million during the same period a year ago.
Revenue rose 14% to $628.2 million from $549.4 million.
Aerospace and electronics sales grew 6% to $148.4 million in the quarter. Engineered materials sales grew 2% to $87.7 million. Merchandising systems sales jumped 85% to $97.4 million, primarily from acquisitions. Fluid handling sales grew 9% to $263.1 million. Controls sales grew 9% to $31.8 million.
