PALO ALTO, CA - Agilent Technologies Inc. has released a 64-bit version of Momentum, its 3D-planar electromagnetic software. The software is said to offer significantly improved accuracy, capacity and speed for design and verification of passive components and interconnects for RFIC, MMIC and PCB/hybrid/module design.
The 64-bit capability allegedly eliminates memory limitations and cuts EM simulation and verification time in half. For problems such as large interconnect, packaging and antenna-array structures, speed improvements of up to eight times are said to have been observed.
"Electromagnetic analysis is well known for superior accuracy and is a key piece of a predictive design flow," said Mounir Adada, product marketing manager at Agilent's Ees of EDA division. "However, the overhead, in terms of time and design flow integration, can make it inefficient when fast design-cycle time is a must. The 64-bit version of Momentum makes fast, accurate analysis of large networks and interconnect structures possible."
