CAMBRIDGE, MA, Feb. 12 -- SofTech Inc. and Cimmetry Systems announced a licensing deal that will ultimately see the integration of the companies' signature software products.
Under the deal, SofTech will license Cimmetry's AutoVue
visualization and collaboration software, which it will also
integrate with its ProductCenter product lifecycle management software.
Terms and a release date were not announced.
In a press release, SofTech said the integration with improve
ProductCenter's capabilities for document management, design
integration, configuration control, change management and enterprise
integration. The companies said that users of ProductCenter will be
able to view, markup, and collaborate in real-time on native product
data of virtually any type, including PCB and IC layouts and
schematics.
Jay Pappas, SofTech ProductCenter product manager said, "[W]e will
empower users across the extended enterprise and throughout the supply
chain to fully collaborate on product data."
Michael Vidmar, business development manager at Cimmetry,
said, "AutoVue integrated with ProductCenter provides technical and
non-technical users alike with access to invaluable design data,
regardless of format, from an intuitive user interface."
Cimmetry makes visualization and collaboration software tools for
engineering, manufacturing and electronics. AutoVue is used to view,
markup and collaborate in real time on over 200 native formats.
Users of SofTech's software include Boeing, FlightSafety International, General Electric, Honeywell and Whirlpool.
