About the Award
PRINTED CIRCUIT DESIGN & FAB's New Product Introduction (NPI) Awards recognize the leading new products for printed circuit board design and fabrication during the past 12 months. Awards are selected by an independent panel of practicing industry engineers and are presented by PRINTED CIRCUIT DESIGN & FAB.

Requirements

Entrants must submit a single, complete entry form for each product and category entered. Entries that fail to comply with the submission requirements will result in automatic disqualification.
All entries must include:
  • A 250-word (maximum) statement describing the product in terms of its innovation, compatibility, cost-effectiveness, design, speed/throughput improvements, ease of use, maintainability and ease of repair, emailed to Chelsey Drysdale at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it no later than July 26, 2013, for fabrication categories. (Note: Design 2013 PCD&F Design NPI Award registration will open May 21, 2013.)
  • A PDF or Word file of corresponding technical product literature and/or product specifications, e-mailed to This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it .
  • A high-resolution (266 dpi or greater) digital image (.jpg, .tif or .eps).
  • Fee of $500 per product entered.

Judging

Judges have been chosen by PRINTED CIRCUIT DESIGN & FAB from a pool of experienced, practicing industry engineers with no affiliation to any of the entrants. PRINTED CIRCUIT DESIGN & FAB will tabulate all scores. Judges' scores are final; judges will not be available to communicate with entrants.

Evaluations will be based on the following:
  • Creativity and innovation
  • Compatibility with existing technology
  • Cost-effectiveness
  • Expected reliability
  • Flexibility
  • Performance
  • User-friendliness

Awards Ceremony

The 2013 Design NPI Award ceremony will take place Sept. 25, 2013, during PCB West in Santa Clara, CA.

The 2014 Fabrication NPI Award ceremony will take place Mar. 25, 2014, during IPC Apex Expo in Las Vegas.
